Accommodation
Millpond House is a spacious, airy and modern self-catering property, sleeping 6 people. To capitalise on the 360 degree mountain and sea views, the property has been designed with the main open-plan living space located on the first floor.
The property reflects the tastes of the hosts and the ‘finishing touches’ have been carefully selected for your enjoyment and pleasure during your stay. The artwork and prints, soft furnishings and complimentary toiletries have been sourced either locally or from other Scottish businesses.
The property benefits from oil fired central heating and complimentary superfast Wifi.

Living Area
The entrance to Millpond House is at the front of the property. Through the door is a dark grey slate tiled floor, with a bespoke coat rail and shoe rack providing plenty of space to dry out wet clothing and outdoor footwear. Complimentary slippers are provided for you to slip into after a day exploring the island and experiencing the Scottish weather!
The hallway is laid in solid oak and leads to each of the three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
On ascending the beautiful oak finished staircase, you will be met by the spacious, open-plan first floor, again fully laid with solid oak flooring.



To the left of the staircase is the lounge area where your eyes will be drawn to the impressive ceiling to floor picture window, providing a relaxing area to soak up the scenery. The cozy wood-burning stove provides warmth and atmosphere during the colder months. There are two comfortable Harris Tweed sofas, Harris Tweed Chesterfield-style armchair and accompanying footstool. All the window pelmets are upholstered in the matching Harris Tweed throughout the first floor, providing rustic charm and a nod to the Outer Hebrides.
A 55 inch Smart television, with Netflix, Bluetooth speaker, PlayStation 4 console and a selection of games are provided, along with board and card games to entertain adults and children alike.
For those quieter moments, books on the history of the island and other carefully selected Scottish literature is provided for your enjoyment, along with binoculars to soak up the spectacular views.



The dining area is positioned in the centre of the open-plan living area and provides subtle definition between the lounge and kitchen. The large rustic dining table has seating for 6. Three large Velux windows are positioned over the table, providing atmospheric lighting throughout all seasons. A further three remote control Velux windows are positioned above the staircase.




On arrival you will be welcomed with a basket of essentials and goodies to get you started, including a bottle of wine for you to enjoy – the welcome basket caters for all! There will be milk in the fridge and salt, pepper, cooking oil, clingfilm and kitchen foil in the cupboards for use during your stay.
At the opposite end of the living area is a modern, light, contemporary fully fitted kitchen, with such conveniences as an induction ceramic hob, electric oven, dishwasher, Dualit toaster, Tassimo coffee maker and an American style fridge freezer, with water and ice dispenser. The kitchen boasts an array of cooking utensils/equipment, and Denby Pottery ‘White Collection’ crockery.


The kitchen leads to a separate Utility Room, equipped with sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave and other general housekeeping equipment. The vacuum cleaner is located in the cupboard on the ground floor. Cleaning products for general use and all domestic appliances are also provided for your convenience during your stay – one less thing to pack!
There is also a small bathroom with wc and a wash hand basin accessed from the Utility Room
Extras
A travel cot, with bedding, high chair, booster chair for toddlers and a baby bath are also provided, upon request.
Bedroom 1
This en-suite bedroom is dual aspect with double windows to the front of the property and a patio door on the gable end looking at the grassy lawn and towards Ben Tianavaig. The king-size bed has soft and firm pillows depending on your preference, luxuriously soft Egyptian cotton bed linen, dressed with tweed scatter cushions and throw. It has a walk-in fitted wardrobe, 32 inch Smart television, hairdryer, full length mirror and vanity stool. The finishing touches on the window pelmets and bedside lamp shades are in the local Harris Tweed.


Bedroom 2
This bedroom has double windows to the front of the property. The king-size bed has soft and firm pillows depending on your preference, luxuriously soft Egyptian cotton bed linen, dressed with tweed and faux fur scatter cushions and matching throw. It has a walk-in fitted wardrobe, 32 inch Smart television, hairdryer, full length mirror and vanity stool. The finishing touches on the window pelmets and bedside lamp shades are in the local Harris Tweed.


Bedroom 3
This triple aspect room is located at the rear of the property, looking towards Ben Tianavaig. It is equipped with two single beds, soft and firm pillows depending on your preference, luxuriously soft Egyptian cotton bed linen, dressed with scatter cushions and throws. It has a walk-in fitted wardrobe, 32 inch Smart television, hairdryer, mirror and vanity stool. The finishing touches on the window pelmets are in a dark grey and stone coloured tweed.


Ensuite Bathroom
There are two bathrooms on the ground floor. The ensuite provides use for Bedroom 1 and the Jack and Jill bathroom is accessed from both Bedrooms 2 and 3.
Sharing a small corridor with Bedroom 1, the en-suite is fitted with modern, contemporary bathroom units, sink, wc and separate Grohe power shower with additional rainfall head and towel drier. Sumptuously soft and fluffy Turkish towels and face cloths are provided along with luxury Arran Aromatics toiletries, for use during your stay.



Jack and Jill Bathroom
Accessed from both Bedrooms 2 and 3, this is also equipped with modern, contemporary bathroom units, sink, wc, bath and separate corner Grohe power shower with rainfall head and towel drier. Sumptuously soft and fluffy Turkish towels and face cloths are provided along with luxury Arran Aromatics toiletries, for use during your stay.



Outside
Summer months can be spent enjoying the outside space, where two separate decking areas are located at each of the gable ends of the property to capitalise on day-long sunshine and spectacular views. Modern, outside garden furniture is provided to enjoy alfresco dining, or to simply soak up the surroundings when the weather is being kind!
There is a grassy lawn to the front and gable end of the property, with a rotary washing line. The garden is bordered to the front and rear of the property with modern gabion baskets and a wooden fence encloses the garden at each of the gable ends, with a grassy embankment at the back of the property.
Off road parking for several vehicles is provided, with secure outside storage for bicycles, outdoor equipment and clothing.
A Weber gas BBQ, Hacienda BBQ pizza oven and additional folding camping chairs are also provided for use. Additional wood and kindling for the log burning stove is also stored in the shed.
